Chloe Kuehner & Raechel Hannam are competing in the 100 breaststroke. The Bobcats are also in the 200 medley relay (Kuehner, Barkema, Hannam, Kuhlman) and the 400 freestyle relay (Kuehner, Kuhlman, Lillibridge, Barkema). Melisa Fonseca is the 200 alternate & Maggie Carnahan is the 400 alternate.

Bobcats had three top 10 finishes in individual events at the Central Iowa Conference swim meet Saturday at Summit Middle School in Johnston. MHS was 7th with 126 points. Dowling won with 381, Johnston 2nd (366), West Des Moines Valley 3rd (322), Ankeny 4th (210.5), Waukee 5th (192), and Ames 6th (153.5). Bobcats beat Fort Dodge, Southeast Polk, and Mason City.
Raymond Dulaney finished 5th in the 100 breaststroke in 1:05.99. Sam Carter was 8th in the 100 butterfly (57.66) and John Mahlstede hit the wall in 59.01 in the 100 backstroke to finish 6th.
The 200 medley relay (Mahlstede, Dulaney, Van Staalduine, Landherr) was 6th in 1:45.45. The 200 free relay (Landherr, Van Staalduine, Dulaney, Carter) finished 7th in 1:34.23, and the 400 free relay (Landherr, Van Staalduine, Mahlstede, Carter) finished in 3:31.26 to place 7th.
Bobcats will have districts on February 2nd at Waterloo West.
Bobcats had 11 season best times and 13 lifetime bests.

Head Coach Angie Nelson - "We had a good day, we moved up a little bit and had personal-best times. There was some fast swimming out there today. It was a great meet."
Ames won their third state title after a strong finish to the meet. Six state records were broken yesterday, including two by Pleasant Valley's Gabby Stecker (200 freestyle 1:49.64) and 500 freestyle 4:52.91) and Mason City's Sougstad (200 IM 2:00.33 and 100 free). Des Moines North's Katharine Ross set a state record in the 100 breast (1:01.18), and Pleasant Valley's 400 free relay broke the state record in 3:31.31. Gabby Stecker was named Outstanding Swimmer
Marshalltown, as a team, finished 30th with four points. Chloe Kuehner scored for the Bobcats in the 100 breaststroke.
MHS results:
-200 medley relay (Kuehner, Hannam, Kuhlman, Barkema) finished 20th in 1:55.39
-100 breaststroke - Chloe Kuehner finished 13th in 1:09.83 and Raechel Hannam was 20th in 1:11.20
-400 freestyle relay (Lillibridge, Barkema, Kuhlman, Kuehner) finished 21st in 3:49.57.
